Job Description

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will support the Senior Mechanical Engineer with capital projects, equipment improvements, and plant maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The intern will gain hands-on experience in project management, mechanical design, equipment reliability, safety compliance, and plant operations while working closely with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Operations, EHS, contractors, and equipment vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support equipment troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and root cause investigations.
  • Assist with maintaining maintenance documentation, as-built drawings, manuals, and LOTO procedures.
  • Perform field inspections, data collection, and engineering analysis.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS teams to promote safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Assist with capital project planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Support development of equipment specifications, engineering drawings, and project scopes.
  • Assist with AutoCAD drawings, design reviews, and equipment layouts.
  • Participate in commissioning, startup, and contractor coordination activities.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, industrial equipment, and project engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and industrial plant environments.
