Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Admin II in Austin, TX.

Overview:
Network support group responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and maintaining the client's Complex Ethernet LAN, the client's offices' WAN, and the client's Fiber Channel Storage Area Network. The group is responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies; providing network services and support; network performance monitoring and tuning; network management tools and access control; web filtering and firewall software; and DNS and DHCP services. Network protocol analyzers are frequently used to assist in troubleshooting efforts.

Principal Duties:
* Provides installation, customization, and day-to-day operation of CiscoWorks network management tools
* Prepares and analyzes statistics on network utilization and availability and assists in capacity planning activities
* Has an active role in network design, configuration, and performance tuning of LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN
* Performs implementation, support, and maintenance of CISCO networking equipment
* Has an active role in designing and supporting DNS, DHCP, firewall services, VPN, VoIP, and wireless network
* Assists with overall network security
* Interfaces effectively with other groups within the information systems division

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or commensurate years of equivalent work experience
* Two years of experience in troubleshooting and support in a Cisco Ethernet-based, IP-routed/switched network environment
* Cisco technical training and understanding of Cisco's Best Practices for Network Design
* Working experience with network management tools and networking protocols
* Experience in storage area networking and working with Kiwi, Live Action, Cisco Prime, DNA Center, ISE, Cisco WLC, InfoBlox, and Palo Alto firewalls
* Experience and education may be substituted for one another
* Solid working knowledge of network management systems in a Cisco, AIX and Windows environment
* Solid working knowledge of networking protocols
* Working knowledge of Python and Scripting
* Working knowledge of network security
* Strong working knowledge of CISCO routers/switches, VoIP, and Wireless Network and Cisco Catalyst Center
* Strong working knowledge of Windows networking requirements and DHCP and DNS services
* Skill in troubleshooting and using LAN based network analysis tools
* Skill in scripting
* Skill in analysis and problem solving
* Skill in installing, customizing, and supporting firewall and access control software
* Skill in written and oral communication
* Ability to deal effectively with others
* Ability to work flexible hours and overtime
* Ability to handle deadline pressures
* Ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of material and information
* Ability to work as a member of a team

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
