Job Title: Project Manager 3 (Public Health / Healthcare IT)
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)
Duration: Long-term contract (with possible extension)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Project Manager to lead key public health and healthcare IT initiatives, with a strong focus on interoperability and database migration efforts. This role involves working across multiple systems and business units to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and stakeholder management experience within healthcare or public health environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily stand-ups and coordinate cross-functional development activities
- Provide regular status updates and executive-level reporting (dashboards, KPIs, presentations)
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Coordinate efforts across internal teams and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable data privacy regulations
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and communication strategies
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports for leadership
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and project barriers
- Support adoption of interoperability tools, systems, and workflows
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of project management experience in healthcare IT or public health
- Strong experience with Microsoft server environments, including SQL Server
- Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Familiarity with health data standards and public health systems
- Experience working with clinical systems, public health programs, or IT infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
- Bachelor s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or CAPM certification
- Experience with Oracle database technologies
- Master s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, or related field
