We are seeking a SAN Storage Administrator to support and maintain a large enterprise storage environment. This role focuses on Dell EMC storage platforms and Cisco MDS SAN fabrics, supporting mission-critical infrastructure and ongoing upgrade initiatives.
This position will work closely with infrastructure, virtualization, and application teams to ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of enterprise storage systems.
Responsibilities
Administer Dell EMC storage platforms including PowerMax, VMAX, Unity, and Isilon/PowerScale
Provision storage, manage LUNs, and perform performance tuning and troubleshooting
Manage Cisco MDS SAN fabrics, including zoning, VSAN configuration, and firmware upgrades
Monitor storage and SAN performance, identifying and resolving capacity or latency issues
Support replication and data protection technologies such as SRDF, RecoverPoint, or SnapVX
Provide Tier 3 support for storage-related incidents and root cause analysis
Participate in storage upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
Work with VMware and server teams on storage integration and performance optimization
Maintain documentation, operational standards, and architecture diagrams
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Dell EMC enterprise storage systems (PowerMax, VMAX, Unity, Isilon)
Experience administering Cisco MDS SAN switches
Solid understanding of Fibre Channel, multipathing, and SAN architecture
Experience supporting VMware vSphere storage environments
Familiarity with tools such as Unisphere, Solutions Enabler, or Cisco DCNM
Strong troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments
Nice to Have
Experience with Data Domain, Avamar, or Commvault
Disaster recovery and replication experience
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
Storage or data center certifications (Dell EMC, Cisco, SNIA)
