Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Job Description
We are actively seeking a motivated and talented test engineer who is passionate about testing software through automation. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of hardware, firmware, software, system, and test engineers to develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies for building end-to-end automation solutions connecting various platforms. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to understand features, develop and automate test cases, improve product quality, and shorten release time from development to production.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java/Selenium and/or TypeScript/Playwright.
  • Implement shift-left testing strategies, integrating automation early in the development lifecycle.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across systems and ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Identify risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and maintain accountability for team deliverables.
  • Enhance and optimize automation frameworks while meeting sprint commitments.
  • Work with AWS deployments (e.g., S3 buckets) and manage basic cloud tasks.
  • Validate data and perform testing using SQL databases.
  • Utilize Jira for defect tracking and reporting.
  • Stay current with emerging tools and technologies, including AI-driven testing solutions.

Essential Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing and automation.
  • Strong proficiency in Java + Selenium and/or TypeScript/JavaScript with Playwright.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Solid understanding of AWS basics and SQL/database testing.
  • Familiarity with Jira and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Camunda (workflow engine) and Kafka or other messaging systems.
  • AWS basics (e.g., deployments, S3 buckets) and SQL/database experience.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Jira, and version control systems.
  • Exposure to AI tools for test case generation or code automation.
  • Ability to build automation from scratch, shift-left testing approach
  • While primarily an individual contributor, the role requires leadership qualities like coordination, communication, and ensuring end-to-end quality.
  • Ability to understand the entire system (black-box approach), anticipate risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ownership of deliverables and accountability beyond just user stories

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS basics, including S3 bucket management.
  • Familiarity with Jira and agile methodologies.
  • Exposure to AI tools for test case generation or code automation.
  • Financial services domain experience or large enterprise.
  • Knowledge of RPA or similar automation technologies.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
