Power BI SME to support an established federal program in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics, with a focus on Power BI solutions. This role will lead development efforts and support data-driven decision-making across BI initiatives.
Location & Work Schedule- Location: Dahlgren, VA
- Onsite Requirement: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (hybrid)
Duration: 6 month Contract-to-HireCompensation- Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
- Target Range: ~$119,000 - $120,000
Clearance & Certifications- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance (Interim acceptable)
- Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ required)
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver actionable insights
- Build and optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Establish and enforce Power BI best practices (data governance, quality, performance)
- Conduct training sessions to improve adoption and usage across teams
- Lead Power BI initiatives from design through deployment
- Troubleshoot issues related to reports, dashboards, and data sources
Required Qualifications- 4-5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related field
- Strong experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query
- Experience with SQL and database management systems
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Power BI or Microsoft BI certifications
- Experience with Azure Data Services or cloud-based platforms
- Exposure to advanced analytics or machine learning concepts
- Prior experience in a federal or DoD environment
