Job#: 3023435 Job Description: Senior Business Analyst - HL7 Interfaces Job Summary The Senior Business Analyst - HL7 Interfaces serves as a domain expert for healthcare interoperability and system integrations. This role is responsible for leading requirements discovery, workflow analysis, and stakeholder collaboration for HL7- and FHIR-based interfaces across EMR and enterprise systems. The position requires a strong understanding of patient workflows, interface engines, Epic Bridges, and Agile delivery practices, along with the ability to effectively engage vendors and technical teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions for HL7 and FHIR interface initiatives.
- Analyze and document end-to-end patient workflows and system interactions.
- Develop and maintain interface specifications, mapping documents, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with HL7 developers, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Drive vendor discussions by asking informed technical and workflow-based questions.
- Identify when architectural input is required and proactively engage integration architects.
- Coordinate and support SIT and UAT activities, including message validation.
- Ensure integration solutions are production-ready and meet business requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage backlog items using Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience - 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT or integration-focused business analysis.
- Demonstrated experience supporting HL7-based healthcare integrations.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Required Qualifications - Epic Bridges Certification (required).
- Strong working knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging.
- Foundational understanding of FHIR concepts.
- Hands-on experience with healthcare interface engines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting large-scale EMR or enterprise integration programs.
- Familiarity with interoperability governance and healthcare data exchange standards.
- Strong understanding of clinical and patient workflows.
Certifications - Epic Bridges Certification (required).
- HL7 or FHIR-related certification (preferred).
