Test Automation Lead with Playwright

Our client is looking for Test Automation Lead with Playwright for a long term project and below is the detailed requirement.  

Role: Test Automation Lead with Playwright

Locations: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid - Locals or only within PST time zone)

Employment Type: Contract

Experience: 12-14 Years

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 12-14 years overall IT experience
• 10+ Years Overall QA & Testing Experience 3–5+ Years in QA/Test Lead Role 3–5+ Years of Web Application Testing Experience 2+ Years of Hands-on Playwright Automation Experience Preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework
• Experience with Selenium or similar automation tools is a plus
• Expertise in UI, API, regression, and integration testing
• Experience creating and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of test planning and QA lifecycle methodologies
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and REST clients
• Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for Playwright automation
• SQL and database validation/querying experience
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience working in fast-paced multi-release environments
• Understanding of shift-left testing and continuous testing practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and drive overall test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting across releases
• Define testing scope, QA processes, quality metrics, and governance standards
• Design, develop, and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright
• Drive automation coverage for UI, API, regression, and integration testing
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Lead functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing efforts
• Review test cases, automation scripts, and QA artifacts for quality and completeness
• Manage defect triage, root cause analysis, prioritization, and closure activities
• Coordinate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Scrum Masters, and business stakeholders
• Provide regular QA status updates, dashboards, and test closure reports
• Mentor and guide onshore/offshore QA team members
• Identify QA process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote automation-first and shift-left testing practices
