Summary

Location: Malvern, PA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Workday HCM Technical Lead
6+ Month Contract
Malvern, PA (hybrid--onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)

The Workday HCM Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions. This role serves as the technical expert across Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Total Rewards, Compliance, and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate possesses deep functional and technical expertise in Workday configuration, business processes, security, reporting, and data management. The Technical Lead will drive solution design, mentor team members, establish configuration standards, and ensure the successful delivery of strategic HR technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of Workday HCM solutions.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits.
  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday configurations and business process solutions.
  • Provide leadership and governance for system enhancements, releases, and adoption of new Workday functionality.
  • Establish and maintain configuration standards, technical documentation, and operational procedures.


Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business, or related field.

- 7+ years of Workday experience with significant hands-on configuration expertise.

- 5+ years supporting multiple Workday HCM modules.

- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale Workday implementations or transformation initiatives.

- Deep configuration experience in:

  • Workday Core HCM
  • Workday Payroll
  • Workday Compensation
  • Workday Benefits


Strong understanding of:

- Workday business processes

- Security framework

- Calculated fields

- Condition rules

- Workday reporting

- Tenant management

- Change control processes

- Experience managing production support and enhancement backlogs.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Workday Pro Certifications in HCM, Payroll, Compensation, and/or Benefits.

- Experience with Workday integrations, EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors, and APIs.

- Experience supporting annual compensation and open enrollment programs.

- Knowledge of HR, payroll, and benefits compliance requirements.

- Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments.

- Agile delivery and product operating model experience.
