Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Owner to support a large-scale cloud modernization program, focused on migrating enterprise applications to AWS. This role will work closely with two Agile Scrum teams, driving backlog readiness, delivery execution, and coordination across a multi-team program.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Product Owner with strong Agile experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable work for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Delivery
  • Own and maintain a well-groomed backlog (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria)
  • Translate business and technical requirements into actionable deliverables
  • Support sprint and quarterly planning with realistic scope and sequencing
  • Ensure predictable, high-quality Agile delivery

Agile Execution
  • Work daily with Agile teams to clarify requirements and remove blockers
  • Partner with Scrum Master to maintain effective Agile ceremonies
  • Support continuous improvement and delivery predictability

Stakeholder & Program Alignment
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and platform teams
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and cross-team coordination
  • Provide clear updates and timelines to business and technical stakeholders
  • Align deliverables with broader program milestones

Cloud Modernization Support (AWS)
  • Support migration of applications to AWS
  • Help define scope, sequencing, and release readiness
  • Maintain release checklists and change management processes
  • Learn and apply cloud migration patterns (e.g., rollback strategies, redirects)

Data & Platform Collaboration
  • Work with engineering and architecture to capture non-functional requirements (performance, data quality, availability, scalability)
  • Translate technical constraints into product requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Technology, or related field)
  • 2-5 years of experience working with Agile teams in a Product Owner or similar role
  • Strong experience with:
    • Backlog management and user story creation
    • Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Standups, Retrospectives)
    • Stakeholder communication and coordination
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or modernization initiatives (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to data platforms or databases (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Experience working in multi-team program environments
  • Knowledge of insurance or financial services domain
