This individual will define and execute the vision for information architecture, governance, and content strategy, while leading critical initiatives across taxonomy, permissions, lifecycle management, and Microsoft Purview.

This is a high-impact leadership role that requires both strategic ownership and deep technical execution. You will act as the single accountable owner for platform health, compliance, and optimization within a regulated, SOX-compliant environment.

Top Priorities for Success

1. Strategic Ownership of SharePoint

  • Define and lead the enterprise vision for SharePoint and M365 collaboration platforms

  • Serve as the single owner accountable for platform performance, direction, and outcomes

  • Align platform strategy with business needs and long-term scalability

2. Governance & SOX Compliance Leadership

  • Lead SharePoint governance in a regulated/public company environment

  • Ensure SOX audit readiness and defensible compliance practices

  • Own implementation of Microsoft Purview capabilities including:

    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

    • Retention policies and labels

    • Sensitivity labeling

    • Permissions governance and access controls

3. Strong Technical & Hands-On Capability

  • Actively design and build solutions-not just oversee delivery

  • Develop and deploy SPFx solutions, automation, and modern SharePoint architecture

  • Lead technical execution across platform enhancements and governance tooling

4. Enterprise Information Architecture Expertise

  • Own enterprise taxonomy, metadata strategy, and content architecture

  • Design scalable site structures, navigation, and lifecycle management processes

  • Drive adoption, usability, and enterprise-wide content transformation

Key Responsibilities

Information Architecture & Content Strategy

  • Design and manage the enterprise SharePoint architecture (hub/spoke, site hierarchy, content types)

  • Define global taxonomy and metadata standards to improve findability and governance

  • Lead large-scale content audits and remediation initiatives (ROT cleanup)

  • Establish lifecycle management practices including provisioning and decommissioning

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Own governance framework including access reviews, permissions, and external sharing

  • Lead enterprise-wide permissions remediation efforts

  • Implement and optimize Microsoft Purview compliance solutions

  • Partner with Security, Legal, and Audit teams to ensure regulatory compliance (including SOX)

  • Develop governance policies, standards, and training for site owners

Technical Delivery & Development

  • Architect and develop SPFx solutions using React, TypeScript, and Microsoft Graph

  • Build automation using PowerShell (PnP) and provisioning frameworks

  • Integrate SharePoint with Power Platform and other M365 services

  • Manage code lifecycle, deployments, and DevOps processes

Platform Ownership & Optimization

  • Act as the primary owner of SharePoint platform health, performance, and security

  • Establish KPIs for governance adoption, compliance, and usage

  • Continuously evaluate and implement improvements across the platform

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of SharePoint experience in enterprise environments

  • 3+ years in a senior or lead role with ownership responsibility

  • Strong hands-on experience with SPFx (React, TypeScript, Microsoft Graph)

  • Deep expertise in:

    • Enterprise information architecture (taxonomy, metadata, content lifecycle)

    • SharePoint Online governance and administration

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, compliance)

  • Experience supporting SOX audits and controls within M365 environments

  • Strong experience with PnP PowerShell and automation frameworks

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale governance and transformation initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • A strategic thinker who executes-someone who can both define vision and build

  • A strong communicator who can influence stakeholders across technical and business teams

  • A self-driven leader comfortable owning a platform end-to-end

  • Someone who thrives in high-accountability, regulated environments

Additional Details

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Background check required

  • Limited travel (~10%)
