Description:
Hybrid 50% onsite a month in either Merrimack, NH or NC

We seek a Full Stack Engineer to build scalable UI and APIs that support data-centric workflows for investment decisioning. The role will develop with Angular on the front end and Java Spring Boot on the back end, leveraging REST, AWS, and DevOps practices. You will collaborate within a team to deliver secure, reliable services and responsive web applications. The work will emphasize cloud-native patterns, quality, and continuous delivery.

Join a high-performing group within a leading financial services organization to build data-centric web experiences and APIs that power critical investment and operational decision-making. This is a backend-heavy full stack role focused on building scalable services and modern UIs, leveraging cloud, DevOps, and Agile best practices.

You'll develop and support robust Java/Spring Boot services and Angular-based UI experiences for data operations teams-working in a collaborative environment where quality, performance, and automation are central to how the team ships software.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $62.00 to $66.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities: Backend Engineering (Primary - ~70%)
  • Design and develop modern Java applications using Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs with clear documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable services supporting data-heavy workflows
  • Apply strong engineering fundamentals including performance optimization, testing, observability, and clean code practices
Frontend Engineering (Secondary - ~30%)
  • Develop responsive, component-driven web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Build and maintain reusable web components for consistent UI patterns
  • Collaborate with backend engineers and stakeholders to deliver intuitive user experiences
  • Utilize Node.js tooling and modern frontend build pipelines
Cloud / DevOps / Delivery
  • Deliver high-quality software using CI/CD and DevOps practices (Maven, Jenkins, Git, Docker)
  • Build and deploy applications in AWS (EC2, Lambda, EMR, S3)
  • Work in containerized and cloud-native environments (Docker; Kubernetes/EKS preferred)
  • Contribute to automation, deployment reliability, and release excellence across environments


Experience Requirements:
  • 6+ years of professional software or application development experience
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Java, Spring Boot, JPA, REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI
    • Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, web components, Node.js
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
  • Experience in highly regulated or complex environments (e.g., finance, government, healthcare) strongly preferred


Nice to Have
  • Oracle PL/SQL, ETL concepts, and data modeling
  • Experience working with data-driven systems and identifying gaps through analysis
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI tools)
  • Python and/or Kafka experience


Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline required, plus 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of professional software engineering experience may be considered.

Ideal candidate is deeply enthusiastic about innovation in financial technology, with extensive proficiency in Angular, Java, REST APIs, AWS, and EKS.
