Summary

What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing routine drafting and design assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This work will be performed under direct supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
  • Assisting in accomplishing drafting activities in preparing drawings and sketches.
  • Assisting in accomplishing field survey to ascertain current conditions, assess design solution, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction administration.
  • Preparing material take-offs from drawings.
  • Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
  • On-site assistance during construction.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in CAD/design and/or Bachelor of Architecture is preferred.

Certification: Certification is not required at this level.

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Architectural drafting and design or related coursework.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge and application of building materials in respect to drafting.
  • Drafting of plans, elevations, sections & details.
  • Knowledge and application of company architectural design and CAD drafting standards.
  • Level 2 Revit 3D and Autocad.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships continue to develop, and providing interoffice execution support under close supervision.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
