The Google Cloud Platform Data Platform Product Owner supports moderately complex Change Implementation initiatives. This role is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering enterprise-scale data platform capabilities on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), aligning platform evolution with enterprise data strategy, governance standards, and architectural principles. The consultant will partner with business leaders, engineering teams, architects, and governance groups to translate business needs into scalable platform capabilities while managing a strategic roadmap and backlog in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the product roadmap for the Google Cloud Platform Data Platform, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption capabilities.
- Partner with stakeholders across multiple lines of business to gather requirements and translate them into prioritized platform features.
- Manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and delivery readiness.
- Collaborate with architecture, governance, and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
- Drive adoption of modern data capabilities using Google Cloud Platform-native services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Cloud Storage, and Composer.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year platform roadmap based on investment analysis, value realization, and emerging cloud technologies.
- Define and promote standardized, reusable patterns across data ingestion, integration, and consumption use cases.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure platform scalability, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, and delivery outcomes to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of Change Implementation experience, or equivalent experience in implementation, delivery, or transformation initiatives. This includes experience as a Product Owner or in Product Management, owning product backlogs, defining roadmaps, and delivering enterprise-scale capabilities.
Technical Skills: Strong experience with data platforms and cloud data architectures, particularly Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders, architecture, governance, security, and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud Platform native data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Cloud Storage, Composer, IAM).
- Experience delivering enterprise data ingestion, ETL/ELT, analytics, and consumption platforms.
- Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to simplify and explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $46.00 and $49.00 per hour. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
