Summary

job summary:

Randstad is seeking a hands-on SAP S/4HANA Project Controls Lead to provide immediate financial, schedule, and execution oversight for our client's enterprise transformation roadmap. Working directly alongside Sri Kanda and Lana, this pivotal role serves as the central operational backbone across internal workstreams, System Integrators, and SAP Managed Service Providers (MSP) to manage financial exposure, baseline integrated schedules, and safeguard budget tracking. The ideal candidate will combine deep SAP project governance expertise with strong financial acumen to drive proactive variance identification, manage cross-team dependencies, and maintain continuous executive visibility across all upcoming release milestones.

location: Washington, Washington, D.C.

job type: Contract

salary: $70 - 80 per hour

work hours: 9am to 5pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

Financial Controls & Budget Oversight: Partner directly with Sri and Lana to manage program financial exposure, monitor burn rates, track variance, and maintain tight control over overall program and project budgets.

Integrated Schedule & Dependency Tracking: Build, maintain, and baseline the integrated SAP transformation schedule, managing critical paths and cross-workstream dependencies across internal functional teams and external vendors.

Multi-Vendor Governance: Coordinate day-to-day execution activities across System Integrators (SI), SAP MSPs, and internal business leads to ensure deliverable alignment, standard governance, and accountability.

Risk, Issue & Change Control: Proactively track, log, and mitigate project risks, issues, and scope changes to prevent schedule slippage and financial overruns prior to critical release windows.

Status Reporting & Visibility: Design and deliver accurate, data-driven status dashboards, KPI metrics, and variance reports to give leadership actionable insights into program health.

Data Integrity & PMO Standards: Ensure all project artifacts, baseline schedules, resource allocations, and financial control records remain accurate, current, and audit-ready.

qualifications:

SAP Transformation Experience: Proven experience in project controls, PMO, or project management within large-scale SAP/ERP environments (S/4HANA program exposure strongly preferred).

Financial & Budget Controls: Strong background in managing complex IT project finances, budget tracking, financial exposure modeling, and cost/schedule variance reporting.

Multi-Vendor Coordination: Demonstrated background interfacing with third-party System Integrators, Managed Service Providers, and cross-functional enterprise teams.

Tooling Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, JIRA, Smartsheet, and advanced Excel financial modeling.

Location & Travel Flexibility: Ability to work remotely full-time, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Northeast Corridor (PA / DE / DC area) for periodic on-site meetings.

Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; PMP, CAPM, or formal Project Controls training is a plus.
