Job Description -
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education. We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to architect, build, and scale our next-generation API platform and applications. You will drive end-to-end solution design and implementation across Java (21/17), Python, Angular, and GraphQL, while steering cloud-native delivery on Azure and Red Hat (RHEL/OpenShift) with Terraform-driven Infrastructure as Code. You'll also lead and govern technical execution for data center migration (on-prem to cloud), ensuring performance, security, reliability, and operational excellence. This role blends technical leadership (architecture, standards, code quality, mentoring) with deep, hands-on engineering in high-throughput APIs, distributed systems, and AI/ML-enabled services. Additional skills - Required Qualifications
8+ years total professional software engineering experience across Java (including Java 21/17) and Python; proven record building production-grade APIs and distributed systems.
6+ years designing and leading REST/GraphQL API solutions (schema design, versioning, gateway, security).
3+ years leading teams or projects as a Tech Lead/Lead Engineer.
2+ years hands-on data center migration experience , including cutover planning and execution.
Languages & Frameworks:
Java 21/17 (e.g., virtual threads, records, sealed classes); Spring Boot/Spring Cloud; reactive stacks (Project Reactor).
Python for services & AI/ML (FastAPI/Flask/Django; NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
Angular (modern versions) for enterprise web apps.
- APIs & Integration:
REST (OpenAPI/Swagger), GraphQL (Apollo, graphql-java; Graphene/Ariadne/Strawberry in Python); gRPC a plus.
- Cloud & Platform:
Azure (AKS, App Service, Functions, API Management, Storage, Service BEvent Hubs, Monitor/Application Insights).
Red Hat (RHEL/OpenShift) fundamentals for containerized workloads.
Terraform (modules, remote state, workspaces, policy-as-code).
- Data & Messaging:
SQL Server (T-SQL, indexing, query optimization, performance tuning).
Kafka/RabbitMQ; Redis or equivalent caching.
- DevOps & Security:
CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), artifact management, automated testing.
OAuth2/OIDC/JWT, mTLS, secrets management (Azure Key Vault), vulnerability management.
