Lead Level 3 Structured Cabling Technician to support nationwide projects based out of
St. Louis, Missouri. This role is ideal for an experienced lead technician who excels in team leadership, complex cabling work, and enjoys a travel-heavy lifestyle. After the initial
6-month contract, technicians will have the opportunity to
convert to full-time internal employees with the potential to be placed
anywhere in the United States -continuing in a travel-forward role. Upon conversion,
per diem and a company vehicle are negotiable.
Position OverviewAs a Lead Level 3 Technician, you will oversee structured cabling projects across network, security, and A/V environments while leading Tech 1 and Tech 2 personnel in the field. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent customer-facing communication, and the capability to run full-scope projects independently.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate complex structured cabling projects (Network, Security, A/V).
- Supervise, train, and assign work to Tech 1s and 2s; ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform advanced copper and fiber terminations (RJ45, keystones, F-connectors, LC/SC).
- Execute mechanical & fusion fiber splicing.
- Conduct testing using OTDR, cable certifiers, and network analyzers.
- Install and dress server racks; build cable pathways (basket tray, ladder rack, conduit).
- Read, interpret, and update prints/as-builts based on field conditions.
- Document work using Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Work safely in conditions involving heights, confined spaces, and various site environments.
Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years leading structured cabling teams; strong project oversight experience.
- Advanced Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A installation & troubleshooting.
- Fiber splicing/termination (fusion & mechanical).
- Ability to dress, terminate, and manage large-scale racks (hundreds of cables).
- Experience installing cable trays across large facilities.
- Strong customer-facing communication and ability to interface with PMs and engineers.
- Must be comfortable traveling 60% of the time.
Preferred Certifications & Tools- OSHA 30
- BICSI certification
- Manufacturer familiarity: Panduit, Leviton, Corning
- Exposure to Cisco or Aruba environments
- Aerial lift experience
Contract Details- 6-month contract-to-hire with intent to convert.
- Pay: $29-$40/hr based on experience.
- Upon full-time conversion: Per diem and company vehicle negotiable.
- Onsite role based in St. Louis, Missouri.
