We're a global technology leader with a 150-year legacy, aiming to make a positive impact on industries and communities around the world. Our commitment to sustainability and innovation keeps us moving forward, and we're looking for dynamic individuals who want to be part of that journey.
Are you our next AI Solutions Intern? This role reports directly to the VP of Sales, General Industry, and offers a remote work schedule, with travel to our Auburn Hills, MI facility. This is a flexible role, working between 30-40 hours per week based on project phase.
Our AI Agile team partners with business department leaders to identify, test, and deploy AI-enabled workflow improvements that strengthen operational performance and business outcomes. The focus is to increase capacity, speed, and output using the existing workforce-by freeing employees from low-value, interrupt-driven work-while ensuring responsible, governed, and transparent adoption of AI agents.
Why this internship matters: Digital AI agents are shifting from 'assistive' tools to scalable, auditable digital workers. This internship is designed for someone who can translate real business friction into clean solution designs and then help build practical, secure prototypes that can be validated and scaled. The internship will sponsor you in the development of invaluable enterprise skills which translate in credible career value.
Here's how you'll make an impact: - Architect solutions: Map current-state workflows, define future-state designs, specify integrations/data flows, define guardrails, and set measurable success metrics.
- Rapid prototype & pilot: Build proof-of-concepts and small pilots; run tests, measure outcomes, refine, and document learnings.
- Design the solution stack: Recommend and evolve the "right-sized" toolchain for each use case, balancing speed-to-value with governance and security.
- Automate workflows: Identify manual/repetitive steps and build automations that reduce administrative burden and improve cycle time.
- Enable adoption: Create reusable templates, prompts, playbooks, and short guides; support demos/office hours for teams adopting the solutions.
- Document for scale: Produce clear, audit-friendly documentation (process maps, architecture diagrams, decision logs, and playbooks).
- Explore: Freedom to propose and explore ambitious side quests related to your own passion and skill sets.
Primary tools & platforms you will work with:
- Microsoft 365 Copilot + Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word)
Example projects:
- Build a structured intake experience that triggers an automated workflow with AI-assisted document validation and exception handling.
- Create an internal knowledge agentic model with clear access controls and usage analytics.
- Prototype an agentic workflow that automates a multi-step process across tools with defined guardrails and an auditable trail.
- Interview cross functional teams and explore strategies to accelerate emerging tool adoption across departments.
To succeed, you will need - Undergrad/Postgrad (or equivalent) pursuing Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in AI, automation, and digital tools; comfort learning fast in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Clear communicator: able to translate between business needs and technical solutions; strong writing for documentation.
- Organized and self-motivated; able to manage multiple tasks and deliver on deadlines.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to Microsoft Enterprise Solutions, Copilot Studio, AWS, Azure, or solution architecture concepts (stack development, requirements, integrations, data flows, security).
What success looks like: - Measurable reduction in cycle time, errors, or manual effort in at least one targeted workflow.
- A documented, reusable solution pattern that can be applied to additional processes.
- A pilot delivered with clear governance, access controls, and a simple adoption guide.
