We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Engineer – Lab IT to support and maintain laboratory computing environments and end-user systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of lab workstations and IT infrastructure while providing responsive technical support to business users. This role requires strong expertise in desktop support, system deployment, troubleshooting, endpoint management, and process automation using Excel and scripting tools.

  • Deliver timely and effective technical support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and system-related issues to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Manage the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of laboratory workstations, desktops, and endpoint devices.
  • Perform operating system installations, system provisioning, and image deployment activities for new and existing devices.
  • Execute system rebuilds, upgrades, and reconfiguration activities to support business and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, peripherals, and workstation hardware components.
  • Monitor system performance and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Support application installation, patching, updates, and ongoing maintenance activities across lab environments.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, system configurations, and support records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support lab IT initiatives, technology refreshes, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including formulas, macros, VBA, and data analysis techniques, to generate reports and streamline operational processes.
  • Develop simple automation solutions and scripts to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support recurring administrative tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining endpoint compliance, security standards, and asset inventory records.
  • Provide support for network connectivity issues and perform basic network diagnostics within Windows-based environments.
  • Participate in system testing, validation, and deployment activities to ensure successful implementation of technology solutions.

  • Strong experience supporting Windows-based desktop and workstation environments.
  • Hands-on experience with system imaging, OS deployment, and endpoint provisioning tools.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and operating system issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, reporting, macros, VBA, and data manipulation.
  • Experience automating routine tasks using Excel, PowerShell, batch scripting, or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring and optimization techniques.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer support abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced onsite laboratory environment.
