Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Architect - Onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL or Denver, CO. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. Please note: This position is required to be fulfilled onsite 5 days a week. For the Washington, DC location, the resource cannot start prior to May 11, 2026.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Architect with a strong focus on cybersecurity. In this role, you will be responsible for designing secure and scalable architecture solutions to safeguard the organization's critical information assets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-centric security measures align with business needs and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data management best practices, and a proven track record of successfully implementing a monitoring and logging strategy in both structured and unstructured data within a big data environment.
Responsibilities: - Execute data architectural solutions for complex initiatives that span multiple Lines of Business and control functions
- Facilitate solution-driven discussions with stakeholders
- Support adherence to the enterprise data management policy and standards
- Support architecture design reviews to ensure integration of data architecture principles in technology solutions
- Educate data management teams on enterprise data architectural principles and data management processes and routines
Requirements: - Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role with a focus on designing and implementing complex data architecture
- 5-10+ years of experience in relational and dimensional data modeling as well as metadata build and management
- Expertise in major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
- Hands-on experience working with or implementing data fabric technology (e.g., Starburst)
- Working knowledge of the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF)
- Strong knowledge of data management principles, data modeling techniques, and data integration patterns
- In-depth understanding of data security, data privacy, and data governance concepts
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools (e.g., SAP PowerDesigner, Erwin Data Modeler), database management systems, big data environments, and ETL tools
- Hands-on expertise in relational and NoSQL database systems; strong SQL and Python skills are a must
- Thorough understanding of real-time, batch, and event-based data provisioning
- Hands-on experience in ETL/ELT and API-based data provisioning patterns
- Experience with Data Analysis/Profiling tools (Python, Toad, MySQL), Data Platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Oracle, Splunk), and various database types (Relational, Warehouse, Graph, Key-Value)
- Experience with Data Transformation tools (Informatica, SSIS, Alteryx) and BI tools (Tableau, Microstrategy)
- In-depth understanding of the Data Governance process (critical data elements, metadata, data lineage, data dictionary)
- 5+ years of experience with Data Quality measurements/scorecards, control, and remediation techniques
- Experience working as part of an Agile team and using Agile SDLC tools
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Desired skills: - Knowledge of Cybersecurity, Audit, and regulatory concerns
- Experience with ServiceNow and Data Build Tool (dbt)
- Fluency in hybrid data mesh and data fabric (Starburst/Trino)
- Understanding of Lakehouse foundations, event streaming, and vector search RAG data design
- Familiarity with LLMOps, AI governance standards, and Zero Trust data architecture
- Knowledge of Data/AI observability, data contracts, and domain data products
- Industry certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or TOGAF
Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
