Job Description


We are seeking an Application Programmer III to support an onshore database development effort for an MCL upgrade. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, as well as automation testing and ETL/database testing, and a proven ability to optimize performance, validate data pipelines, and deliver high-quality database solutions.


Responsibilities:



  • Design, develop, and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code including complex queries, procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues with SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, and indexing strategies.

  • Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, sequences, synonyms, and materialized views.

  • Develop and maintain automated tests for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.

  • Plan tests, design test cases, execute tests, and track defects through resolution.

  • Perform ETL and database testing, including data validation, reconciliation, and source-to-target mapping verification.

  • Validate ETL processes, transformations, data quality, and integrity across multiple systems.

  • Analyze large datasets and perform backend testing using SQL.

  • Collaborate with business, development, DBA, and QA teams in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and SDLC phases.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development with performance tuning expertise.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting of SQL performance, query optimization, and execution plans.

  • Experience creating and maintaining database objects, including tables, views, indexes, sequences, synonyms, materialized views, procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.

  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, database design, and Oracle architecture.

  • 3+ years in automation testing with industry-standard tools and frameworks and the ability to develop maintainable automated scripts.

  • Experience with test planning, test case design, defect tracking, and test execution processes.

  • 3+ years in ETL and database testing, including data validation, reconciliation, and source-to-target mapping checks.

  • Proficiency with SQL for large dataset analysis and backend testing in Oracle environments and data warehousing contexts.

  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, or SSIS.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum and across the SDLC.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with effective communication and collaboration.

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or REST Assured is preferred.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps is a plus.

  • Knowledge of data migration, data governance, and data quality frameworks is desirable.


Preferred Skills:



  • API testing with Postman, ReadyAPI, REST Assured, or similar frameworks.

  • CI/CD and DevOps practices using Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

  • Knowledge of Oracle DBA concepts, migrations, backup and recovery, and release deployments.

  • Data warehousing, data governance, and data quality frameworks.

  • Exposure to cloud database platforms and modern data integration architectures.

  • Large-scale data migration, conversion, and reconciliation project experience.

  • Version control with Git, Bitbucket, or SVN.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with business analysts, developers, DBAs, and QA teams to deliver quality solutions.

  • Strong documentation of test plans, test cases, data validation reports, and technical specifications.

  • Experience in regulated environments with focus on accuracy, compliance, and auditability.

  • Automation frameworks and scripting to improve test automation and process efficiency.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support delivery timelines.
