Job Description
We are seeking a Senior DataStage Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM DataStage ETL development, data integration, and database design and a proven ability to deliver scalable data solutions in Agile environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using IBM DataStage for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Create and maintain logical and physical database models to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver incremental value within sprints.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including relational systems, flat files, and APIs, into enterprise data warehouses.
- Tune ETL jobs and database queries for scalability and efficiency.
- Maintain technical documentation for ETL processes, data flows, and database schemas.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and QA teams to validate requirements and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in ETL workflows and data pipelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage, including parallel and server jobs.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Proficiency in database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Experience with Agile frameworks, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
- Demonstrated ability in performance tuning and ETL troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor junior developers.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating APIs within ETL pipelines.
- Exposure to automated testing for data pipelines and ETL jobs.
