As a Network Engineer, you will support enterprise and field network environments by configuring, maintaining, and optimizing secure network infrastructure. This role focuses on Cisco and Palo Alto technologies and supports connectivity across data centers, enterprise systems, and field devices. You will play a key role in ensuring network stability, performance, and security for critical operations.
Responsibilities:
Configure and support Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructure
Administer next generation firewall and security platforms including Palo Alto Networks and F5
Develop and maintain security policies, access control lists, and threat prevention controls
Manage VLANs, routing, and network segmentation to ensure secure communication across systems
Monitor and maintain WAN and LAN environments with focus on high availability and redundancy
Implement and maintain web application firewall solutions and other perimeter security tools
Collaborate with telecommunications teams to support connectivity for field devices including RTUs, IEDs, sensors, and distributed energy systems
Troubleshoot network performance issues and ensure reliable operations
Support cabling infrastructure and general networking needs across sites
Travel up to 25 percent between Reno - travel covered during this
Qualifications:
Experience working with Cisco networking technologies
Experience with Palo Alto firewall platforms
Strong understanding of firewall configuration and switch management
Knowledge of routing protocols including EIGRP and OSPF
Familiarity with WAN and LAN performance monitoring and optimization
Basic knowledge of cabling and physical network infrastructure
Ability to work independently and quickly adapt in a remote supported environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
