Summary

Job Title: Technical Product Manager
Location: Remote

Skills required:

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & Methodologies: Expertise in managing the product development process using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is essential, along with a deep understanding of the entire software development lifecycle.
DevOps and Infrastructure Basics: Knowledge of how J2EE applications are built, tested, and deployed is important.
Web Frameworks: Familiarity with popular frameworks
Persistence Frameworks: Knowledge of how data is stored and retrieved
APIs and Web Services: Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA
Database Knowledge: Proficiency with database concepts.
Front-end Technologies: knowledge of related web technologies to understand UI/UX constraints and possibilities.

Core Product Management & Soft Skills:

Communication & Stakeholder Management: Acts as a crucial bridge between highly technical engineering teams and non-technical business, marketing, and sales teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to translate complex technical issues into business implications and vice versa.
Strategic Thinking and Roadmap Planning: The ability to define the product vision, create a compelling roadmap, and prioritize features and tasks based on user needs, market trends, and business goals.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Utilizes data analysis and critical thinking to identify user pain points, assess potential technical problems, and make data-driven decisions.
Leadership & Collaboration: Inspires and guides cross-functional teams, manages expectations, resolves conflicts, and ensures alignment across all departments involved in the product's success.
Risk Management: Proactively identifies potential technical bottlenecks or project risks and develops mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Definition: Translating business needs into detailed technical specifications for development.
Technical Strategy: Defining the technical vision and roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term viability.
Engineering Collaboration: Working directly with engineers to detail requirements, prioritize features, and resolve technical challenges.
Roadmap Management: Balancing technical debt, new features, and business demands on the product roadmap.
Market & User Understanding: Researching market trends, competitor products, and user feedback, often focusing on technical users (developers).
Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensuring marketing, sales, and design teams understand the technical aspects and limitations.
