Digital Services Technical Lead

Role Summary

The Digital Services Technical Lead is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role responsible for advancing cloud engineering, reliability, automation, security, and application delivery initiatives. This position leads collaboration across software development, AWS Site Reliability Engineering, cloud operations, networking, databases, testing, security, and automation teams. The role focuses on designing and implementing technical solutions, improving continuous delivery and observability, and resolving complex enterprise and cloud platform issues. The successful candidate will combine strong AWS expertise with strategic thinking, technical execution, and clear customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, development, implementation, and solutioning of new technologies and platforms.
• Drive the maturity of software development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and progressive delivery practices.
• Develop and implement technology transformation initiatives involving artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging digital solutions.
• Monitor, manage, and communicate during high-impact incidents, coordinating technical responses through resolution.
• Use observability, monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic tools to identify recurring platform issues and improve system reliability.
• Facilitate technical root cause analysis sessions and lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Respond to requests for information and draft technical approaches aligned with strategic technology objectives.
• Establish standardized processes, documentation, incident procedures, and engineering practices across technical teams.
• Participate in Agile sprints to improve business processes, technologies, data connections, and digital dashboards.
• Prioritize customer issues, manage stakeholder communications, and provide clear executive-level updates on technical risks and events.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience building and operating AWS environments, networking, IT security tools, databases, and related technologies.
• Hands-on expertise in DevSecOps, automation, application development, databases, integration, implementation, and release management.
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience with AWS services and tools including CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and AWS EKS.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based containerized applications, including Spring Boot container services.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, enabling environments, feature flags, and DORA metrics aggregation.
• Experience using observability and incident management tools, including Datadog, monitoring, alerting, diagnostics, and real-time communications.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, cloud security, PaaS environments, network administration, and remote access technologies such as SFTP, RDP, PCoIP/DCV, and AWS Session Manager.
• Coding proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, C, C++, Java, or Ruby.
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty certifications preferred or required for the role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, written communication, verbal communication, and customer engagement skills.

Publishing Pay Range: $92.00 - $97.00 hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
