Responsible for defining the target?state architecture and design standards for the virtualization layer of the Internal Cloud Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) stack, ensuring the platform is repeatable, scalable, and aligned to Internal Cloud design tenets.
- Accountable for ensuring virtualization architectures deliver enterprise outcomes for resiliency, fault?domain isolation, and consistent workload hosting across cloud modules that are designed for repeatability and built up through automation.
- Owns virtualization reference architectures, standards, and guardrails that determine how virtualization is deployed and evolved as part of the HCI stack (including alignment to VMware?centric platform components referenced in the stack materials).
- Task?level responsibilities include producing and maintaining reference designs, reviewing and approving virtualization design changes, guiding engineering teams on implementation patterns, and ensuring virtualization standards integrate with the broader HCI layering model (physical/network fabric ? virtualization ? workload platforms), including dependencies introduced by automation and platform hosting layers (e.g., Tanzu/OpenShift references in the stack).

qualifications:
- 7-10+ years enterprise platform architecture experience across virtualization and infrastructure hosting domains.
- Advanced VMware certification (e.g., VCAP) or equivalent experience demonstrating architectural depth.
Experience architecting platforms that host mixed workload types (VMs, grid/batch, container platforms) and that align to repeatable "cloud module" style deployment patterns.
- Experience supporting modernization programs that require strong standardization, automation alignment, and cross?team governance.
