Job Title: Technical Data Steward
Location: Dallas, Texas (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced data professional to play a pivotal role in advancing enterprise data governance and cataloging initiatives. Our team relies on this position to enhance metadata management, ensure data accessibility, and drive compliance across major cloud and data analytics environments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enrich metadata within Atlan, ensuring comprehensive documentation and discoverability of datasets, tables, and pipelines.
- Implement and maintain data cataloging standards, classifications for sensitive and PII data, and business glossaries.
- Define and enforce governance policies, including RBAC/ABAC controls and compliance measures, and support end-to-end data lineage for traceability.
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to optimize data accessibility, oversee data quality, and configure integrations with platforms such as Databricks, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, and BI tools.
Required:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated knowledge in the retail sector.
- Hands-on experience with Atlan or similar data governance tools such as Collibra or Alation.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, end-to-end lineage, and business glossary implementation.
- Technical proficiency in modern data platforms including Databricks, Google Cloud Platform, and Snowflake, as well as experience with SQL and ETL/ELT data pipelines.
