Role: UI/UX Designer
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months contract with possibility of extensions
Position Overview
IRG Clients is seeking an experienced Senior Application Systems Analyst & UI/UX Designer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of enhancements for a large-scale public sector benefits and case management system. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of business analysis, application design, UI/UX expertise, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
This role will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and quality assurance teams to gather requirements, design user-centered solutions, create application prototypes, and support testing efforts. The candidate will play a key role in improving system usability, business processes, and overall application effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements in collaboration with product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Create proof of concepts (POCs) to validate and demonstrate design solutions.
- Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, including menus, navigation structures, dashboards, widgets, forms, and search functionality.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed application designs that clearly communicate functionality and user experience.
- Present design concepts, prototypes, and recommendations to stakeholders and project teams.
- Refine application layouts and designs based on user feedback and usability considerations.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
- Support Agile development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Assist in developing test scenarios, test cases, and participate in functional and user acceptance testing activities.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Ensure application designs align with business policies, compliance requirements, and user needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on usability, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as an Application Systems Analyst, UI/UX Designer, Systems Designer, or similar role supporting web-based applications.
- 10+ years of experience designing and documenting enterprise-level application solutions.
- 10+ years of experience working directly with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical designs.
- Strong expertise in UI/UX principles, application workflow design, usability standards, and user-centered design methodologies.
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and functional specifications.
- Hands-on experience with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or similar design software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale government, healthcare, social services, or case management applications.
- Experience designing applications built on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) platforms used for social services or case management solutions.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Experience working within Agile environments utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Shift-Left testing methodologies.
- Experience supporting public assistance, benefits eligibility, human services, or federally regulated programs.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, responsive design, and modern web application frameworks.
