Job Description: Analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities and/or implement technology systems that meet business objectives. Provide analysis, reporting tools and support for field operations to effectively control and/or justify operational costs. Analyze data obtained through multiple sources including data mining tools and other statistical analysis tools. Research, analyze, and consolidate technical or engineering related information; present to management for review and recommend solutions. Develop, evaluate, document and improve operations methods to work area design, process flow and work methods. Monitor, analyze and recommend ways to improve productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations in conjunction with management. Apply project management fundamentals and concepts for multiple concurrent projects. Develop progress reports, meeting minutes, field communication memos and presentations for management review. Collaborate with all levels of field leadership to identify trends in performance. Establish a communication link between operations and corporate departments; provide data and technical expertise relating to facility and equipment planning, layout and cost justification. Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and implement corporate projects. Conduct dock observations and make recommendations on methods to increase productivity and decrease freight damages. Provide education and support for new technology deployments. Lead service center and department projects. Mentor and develop critical skill sets of Field Engineering Specialists. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent* in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of professional experience in applied engineering concepts and technology. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Transportation or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of professional experience in applied engineering concepts and technology in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Thorough understanding of the design and operation of a nationwide less-than-truckload network; Thorough understanding of all local aspects of a less-than-truckload operation (pickup and delivery, dock movement, clerical, leadership); Utilizing mapping software (ArcGis, E-Maps) for route and territory design and optimization; Ability to acquire, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources using tools like Oracle SQL, Developer, Spotfire, Power BI; Proven ability to apply Business Acumen and Financial Literacy principles to both tactical and strategic decision making; Knowledge of Quality Management techniques like Six Sigma, Lean, QDM and the ability to apply those techniques in a high-velocity transportation network. Knowledge of equipment and properties resource planning; knowledge of mapping applications. Experienced with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage projects, prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals and respond to day-to-day functional needs. Ability to anticipate and identify problems and develop effective and efficient solutions. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.

Travel: 20% travel to various worksite / project sites within the Pocono District, including Eastern PA, NJ, and Long Island, NY.
