Sr. Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure Manager

Location: Plano, Texas (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced senior leader to own and manage our Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) supporting AI-driven use cases. This role is responsible for the strategy, governance, and roadmap of the internal cloud platform, focusing on platform delivery through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD. The ideal candidate is a people leader first, capable of managing and developing a team of senior engineers, operating in a cross-functional environment, and driving the platform's evolution to meet current and future business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Google Cloud Platform engineering team, including hiring, evaluation, performance management, and professional development.
• Own the platform strategy, governance, and roadmap, establishing security guardrails, cost management frameworks, and adoption patterns.
• Oversee the delivery of internal cloud platform services, including the design, configuration, and integration of new technologies via automated pipelines.
• Mature the platform post-build by enhancing automation, reporting, scalability, resiliency, and deployment reliability.
• Partner with internal development teams and stakeholders to provide advisory on platform usage and enable their business outcomes.
• Manage the Google Cloud Platform vendor relationship and the evaluation and selection of vendor products.
• Ensure the platform architecture supports high availability, regional failover, disaster recovery, and observability.
• Operate within a matrixed enterprise environment, influencing peer leaders and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

Education: An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Experience: A minimum of ten years of related work experience is required. This includes experience running a cloud or platform engineering team, managing senior technical engineers, and working in a large enterprise environment. Candidates must have experience delivering services that support IT development organizations.

Technical Skills: A strong background in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform ecosystems is required. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of cloud concepts, including networking, virtualization, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), storage, and compute services. Experience with governance, controls, and operating in an audit or regulatory environment is also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• A graduate degree is preferred.
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience in the financial services industry or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with the AI/ML ecosystem.
• Experience managing distributed teams.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work model, with a requirement of three days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The role is based in the Dallas area, with potential for some travel to other team locations.
