Job Title: Senior Oracle XStore POS Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle XStore POS Developer with strong expertise in Oracle Retail XStore, advanced Java development, and point-of-sale (POS) systems. The candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, integrating, and maintaining Oracle XStore applications, with a focus on retail transactions, payment processing, and healthcare or pharmacy retail operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle XStore POS, Java-based application development, payment integrations, and modern AI-assisted development practices to improve application performance, reliability, and development productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain Oracle XStore POS applications and related retail components.

  • Develop Java-based applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices to support POS transactions and enterprise integrations.

  • Configure and support Oracle XStore components, including XAdmin and XEnvironment.

  • Integrate POS applications with payment gateways, payment devices, tokenization platforms, and enterprise systems.

  • Implement and support payment processing, transaction management, and retail commerce workflows.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and application enhancements.

  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, defect resolution, and production support.

  • Support application upgrades, quarterly releases, deployments, and Level-3 production issues.

  • Develop and maintain integrations with databases, backend services, and external applications.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools for code generation, unit testing, code reviews, refactoring, and documentation.

  • Participate in cloud migration, CI/CD automation, and application modernization initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable security, privacy, and payment-processing standards.


Required Technical Skills

1. Oracle Retail XStore POS

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle XStore POS development and customization.

  • Knowledge of Oracle Retail Suite components, XAdmin, and XEnvironment.

  • Experience with POS configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and deployment.

  • Understanding of retail transaction processing, POS workflows, and store operations.


2. Java Full Stack Development

  • Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 and advanced Java concepts.

  • Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and application architecture.

  • Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Familiarity with WebLogic Server and enterprise Java applications.

  • Exposure to ReactJS or Angular is desirable.


3. Payment Integration

  • Experience integrating POS applications with payment gateways and payment processing systems.

  • Knowledge of credit/debit card transactions, tokenization, and payment orchestration.

  • Experience with POS payment devices, including PIN Entry Devices (PEDs).

  • Understanding of transaction authorization, payment failures, reversals, and reconciliation.

  • Exposure to pharmacy retail payments or healthcare payment workflows is preferred.


4. AI-Assisted Development

  • Familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI, or Oracle AI services.

  • Experience using AI tools for code generation, automated unit testing, code review, refactoring, and technical documentation.

  • Understanding of prompt engineering and productivity automation.

  • Exposure to intelligent monitoring and AIOps concepts is an advantage.


5. Cloud and DevOps

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools.

  • Knowledge of build and release management, deployment automation, and version control.

  • Familiarity with Docker, containers, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.

  • Understanding of application monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.


Preferred Domain Experience

  • Healthcare provider organizations and pharmacy retail systems.

  • Hospital payment systems, patient billing, and collections.

  • Healthcare commerce and patient financial services platforms.

  • HIPAA-compliant application development and healthcare system integrations.

  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) integration, including Epic, where applicable.

  • Payment platform modernization and payment device certification/testing.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8-10 years of software development experience, preferably in Java and enterprise applications.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle XStore POS development.

  • Experience with advanced Java concepts and enterprise application integration.

  • Knowledge of POS transaction processing and payment integrations.

  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Oracle XStore implementation experience in healthcare or pharmacy environments.

  • Experience with Epic EHR or patient financial services integrations.

  • Knowledge of payment security standards and PCI DSS.

  • Experience with AI/ML initiatives or AI-powered software engineering.

  • Cloud-native application architecture and containerization.

  • Experience with payment device certification and end-to-end transaction testing.
