Mechanical Engineer - Satellite Communications Hardware

Location: Onsite Germantown, MD

Duration: 1+ year contract with strong likelihood for extensions

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead hardware development for advanced satellite communications products from concept through production.
Responsibilities

Design and develop electromechanical hardware systems
Perform CAD design, FEA, CFD, and thermal analyses
Develop production-ready drawings using GD&T
Execute testing, validation, and design verification activities
Drive design for manufacturability and cost optimization
Collaborate with electrical, RF, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
Support products throughout the full lifecycle

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
CAD proficiency (Creo, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.)
Experience with FEA, CFD, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
Hardware testing and validation experience

Preferred

Satellite communications experience
RF hardware or antenna systems
Electronic packaging
EMI/EMC considerations
Manufacturing and NPI experience
