Position: Software Engineer

About the Role
As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of infrastructure-focused software systems. You will work in a highly collaborative Agile environment, partnering closely with system and software architects while also mentoring junior engineers. This role emphasizes high-quality, test-driven development and exposure to modern CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
Perform full lifecycle software testing for infrastructure software products, from development through verification and maintenance
Participate in Agile product development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Collaborate daily with cross-functional engineering teams to design, implement, and validate software capabilities
Work closely with system and software architects to understand design intent and translate requirements into tested solutions
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning, code quality, and ownership
Gain and apply working knowledge of the team's CI/CD infrastructure, automation frameworks, and development toolchain
Identify opportunities for process, tooling, and quality improvements and actively contribute feedback
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related engineering or science discipline
Proficiency in C++ (C++11 or later), Ada, and Python
Experience with Linux-based software development environments
Solid understanding of object-oriented software design and development principles
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with software testing and verification tools such as VectorCAST, CppUnit, Gcov, and Gcovr
Familiarity with CMake for build configuration and management
Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) in a collaborative team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment, including occasional pair programming
Hands-on experience with Agile product development methodologies
Ability to develop and communicate software development estimates
Demonstrated mindset of continuous improvement and comfort proposing process or quality enhancements
Ada testing experience, including AUnit
Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab pipelines
Familiarity with Green Hills compiler for Ada
Experience with GNAT toolchain, including gnatmake
