Application Data Modeler

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking for a Application Data Modeler. This role is fully remote in any time zone for a 6 month contract opportunity.

Overview:
In this role, the Application Data Modeler will engage with Software Engineers to design databases for online applications that provide industry-leading services to our customers. They will use cutting-edge data tools to design robust databases that promote high-quality, high-value data.

Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with software engineering teams to translate business requirements into database designs that accelerate the development of durable software products
* Utilize modern data modeling tools to perform physical data modeling
* Follow and contribute to data modeling best practices
* Promote the capture and retention of metadata using a data catalog solution
* Collaborate with database engineering, big data and information security teams to ensure the
integrity, quality and security of all data

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5-10 years of experience as Application Data Modeler supporting relational database design and data normalization experience
* Excellent collaboration and verbal & written communication skills
* Experience working in an agile/scrum environment as a shared resource
* Experience with data modeling tools like DbSchema, ER/Studio or erwin
* Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
* Familiar with a microservices architecture
* Experience with data catalog tools like Alation or Collibra
* An understanding of Data Governance concerns including data privacy, security and retention
* Experience in Insurance, Insurtech or Fintech environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
