About the Role

We are building a net-new Agentic AI platform for Commercial Banking to automate servicing and email-driven workflows. This platform uses autonomous and assisted AI agents to understand inbound emails, extract intent (including multi-intent messages), orchestrate the right services, and complete work end-to-end with minimal human intervention.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering the core platform capabilities, while guiding teams through early discovery, experimentation, and the build-out of production-ready systems.

This is a high-ownership, startup-style environment where engineering leaders make critical architectural decisions and drive implementation hands-on.
What You Will Build

You will design and implement an AI-driven workflow system that:

• Reads and interprets incoming emails
• Classifies and extracts one or more user intents
• Breaks down complex or multi-request messages
• Routes work through an orchestration engine
• Executes tasks using autonomous or human-assisted AI agents
• Integrates with a front-end chatbot interface
• Notifies users only when human action is required

Agents may be fully autonomous or collaborate with humans in the loop.
Current Phase of the Project

The team is in early-stage architecture and infrastructure setup:

• End-state visioning and workflow mapping
• Building dev and production environments
• Designing the agent orchestration framework
• Standing up MCP server
• Email ingestion + classification pipelines
• Creating foundational APIs
• Setting up MongoDB
• Running POCs, experiments, and architecture validations

This role will significantly influence the architectural direction during this critical phase.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and development of platform components
• Design scalable, reliable APIs and distributed services
• Build workflow orchestration and task-based processing systems
• Create agentic AI patterns using LangChain/LangGraph
• Drive POCs to validate architectural decisions
• Review system designs, integration approaches, and code quality
• Collaborate closely with product, operations, and enterprise architecture teams
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers
• Champion engineering discipline, delivery excellence, and high code standards

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• 10+ years of engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals
• 2+ years of hands-on AI/LLM engineering experience
• Deep proficiency in Python
• Strong production experience with LangChain and LangGraph
• At least one production agentic AI system delivered end-to-end
• Strong understanding of AI system design and agent orchestration
• Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases
• Experience developing async APIs
• Knowledge of MCP, Kafka/queue systems, and workflow engines
• Experience building microservices in cloud-native environments (containers, CI/CD, observability)

Architecture & Delivery

• Proven solution architecture experience, ideally tied to AI/ML systems
• Ability to make architectural tradeoffs and validate decisions via POCs
• Strong Agile delivery leadership (estimation, grooming, sprint planning)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google ADK (Agent Developer Kit)
• Experience in financial services (KYC, onboarding, servicing workflows)
• Broader familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks and workflow automation platforms

• Pure Python developers without AI/agentic experience
• Academic-only AI profiles
• Candidates who have only built demos/POCs with no production delivery
