This role is ideal for a business and technology leader who has experience working at the intersection of tax operations, enterprise software modernization, business process redesign, and technology delivery. The selected candidate will serve as the day-to-day face of the Seine Client engagement with stakeholders and will be responsible for helping translate tax business needs into clear business architecture, process models, requirements, delivery priorities, and implementation plans.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience delivering or leading modernization efforts for technical tax solutions, including tax preparation systems, tax management platforms, corporate tax workflows, tax data management, tax automation, or similar enterprise financial systems.
Experience working for a software company, consulting firm, accounting firm, or large enterprise that has modernized its own tax systems is highly desirable.
This role will also manage the overall delivery effort, including coordination with a technical delivery team located offshore in India.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Business Architect / Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading the business side of the modernization effort while managing day-to-day client engagement and delivery coordination.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day Seine Client contact for business and technology stakeholders.
- Lead business architecture activities for the modernization of legacy tax preparation and tax management systems.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, requirements workshops, process reviews, and solution design discussions.
- Understand current-state tax preparation, tax management, review, approval, filing, reporting, document management, and client service workflows.
- Define future-state business processes that improve automation, standardization, data quality, user experience, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Translate complex tax business needs into clear business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, decision rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with technical architects, data architects, Snowflake resources, integration resources, developers, QA teams, and offshore delivery teams to ensure business requirements are properly understood and implemented.
- Manage the overall delivery plan, including scope, priorities, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and status reporting.
- Provide leadership and day-to-day direction to offshore technical resources located in India, ensuring work is aligned to client priorities and delivery expectations.
- Review deliverables from business analysts, developers, data architects, and technical teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Support backlog creation, backlog grooming, sprint planning, solution validation, UAT planning, and release readiness.
- Lead client-facing status meetings, working sessions, design reviews, demos, and executive-level updates as needed.
- Identify business and delivery risks early and work with Seine Client leadership and stakeholders to define mitigation plans.
- Ensure that business requirements are traceable through design, build, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
- Help define adoption, training, change management, and operational readiness needs for the modernized tax platform.
- Support the transition from legacy, manual, spreadsheet-driven, or fragmented tax processes to a more automated, data-driven, scalable platform model.
- Act as a bridge between tax business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
Candidates should have the following required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, consulting, engagement management, technology delivery, enterprise transformation, or tax/finance systems modernization.

- Prior experience supporting or leading the delivery of technical tax solutions, financial systems, tax automation platforms, or enterprise business applications.
- Proven ability to work directly with senior client stakeholders, business users, technology leaders, tax subject matter experts, and offshore delivery teams.
- Experience leading discovery, requirements definition, process design, solution validation, and user acceptance testing.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, data needs, and implementation priorities.
- Experience managing delivery workstreams, project plans, risks, issues, dependencies, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Ability to manage and coordinate a small offshore delivery team, preferably located in India.
- Strong meeting facilitation, communication, documentation, and executive presentation skills.
