About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our Information Security team. In this role, you will help protect the organization''s systems, networks, and sensitive information by implementing security controls, monitoring for cyber threats, and supporting enterprise security initiatives. You will work closely with IT teams to strengthen our cybersecurity posture, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure secure technology solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security protocols to protect sensitive information and critical systems.
  • Monitor network traffic and security events to detect suspicious activities and respond to potential threats.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities.
  • Identify opportunities for security improvements by evaluating current environments, industry trends, and emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and architecture teams to ensure secure system configurations and implementations.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify security risks.
  • Support the implementation of security controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Prepare reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation activities.
  • Participate in cybersecurity projects and contribute to continuous improvements in the organization''s security posture.
  • Work effectively with business stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership to support enterprise security initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a related technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and RMO.
  • Understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption technologies.
  • Ability to translate security architecture and design requirements into technical implementations.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments and vulnerability analysis.
  • Understanding of security controls and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources, including performance and risk metrics.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, research, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with experience creating technical documentation, system designs, and presenting updates during Agile ceremonies and stakeholder meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, CEH, SSCP, or other cybersecurity certifications are considered an asset.
