Responsibilities The Work The Network Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining , and supporting an organization's network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and Inter net systems. This role ensures network availability, performance, and security by monitoring, maintaining , and troubleshooting network hardware, software, and related systems.
T his position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Key Responsibilities - Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Creating and managing network users, user environment, directories, and security
- Maintaining, repairing and upgrading network and server systems
- Replace faulty network hardware components when required .
- Monitoring network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made
- Ensuring network connectivity throughout an organization's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
- Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security programs
- Resolving network-related issues reported by users
- Implementing and maintaining disaster recovery solutions
- Training network staff to provide support
- Developing and maintaining network performance records and logs
- Participate in process improvements, automation, and innovation initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned .

- Level 1: 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment .
- Level 2: 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals . A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required . Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment .
- Level 3: 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Understanding of routing protocols, application layer, transport layer, and internet/link layer
- Knowledge of data security administration, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills: - Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role in the IT field.
- Experience with network protocols and network management systems.
- Familiarity with operating systems, internet security, and data privacy principles.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
- Understanding of complex information and requirements.
- Proficient in network architecture and infrastructure including understanding of network protocols, data center management, and database systems.
- Knowledge of network security measures and data backup/recovery methods.
- Able to troubleshoot issues that arise with network systems and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to detail to detect and prevent potential threats, maintain network systems, and ensure optimal performance.
- Knowledge of operating systems, local area/wide area networks (LANs/WANs), and network segments.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills .
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
- Able to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi -functional team.
Desired Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+ are a plus
- Customer service skills to handle user issues and complaints, provide guidance, and maintain a positive relationship with the workforce.
- Solid understanding of network architecture and infrastructure

Reports to: Program Manager
Working Conditions - Professional office environment , with the ability to work on - site in the main office .
- Must reside in the Austin area.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at a computer screen .
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
- May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
- T ravel costs, per diem, and other related expenses must be pre-approved in compliance with State of Texas travel guidelines.
