Seeking a Manual QA Tester with strong problem-solving abilities and experience in backend and API validation. This position emphasizes end-to-end testing of complex, integrated systems to ensure workflows and system interactions perform as expected. The role involves creating and executing test cases, partnering with engineering and product teams, and contributing to the evolution of QA practices. Candidates with a Business Analyst (BA/BSA) perspective and strong systems thinking are highly desirable, even if some technical skills are still developing. Responsibilities
- Conduct manual testing across user interfaces, backend systems, APIs, and integrated environments.
- Validate a UI-driven enterprise platform supported by Oracle and Azure SQL databases.
- Test both modern REST/JSON APIs and legacy SOAP services using tools such as SoapUI.
- Verify workflows for users operating on multiple system versions, including legacy and current platforms.
- Perform regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end system testing.
- Execute backend validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Assess integrations involving hardware components such as printers and peripheral devices.
- Log, track, and clearly communicate defects, risks, and quality concerns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and expected behaviors.
- Contribute to building and refining QA processes in an evolving team structure.
Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing (mid to senior level).
- Broad QA expertise; candidates with leadership experience in QA are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of API testing fundamentals, including REST, JSON, and SOAP.
- Practical experience with SoapUI for validating APIs.
- Background testing enterprise-level UI applications.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases and Azure SQL for backend validation is preferred.
- Experience testing integrations with hardware devices (e.g., printers, peripherals).
- Exposure to healthcare, diagnostics, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to understand end-to-end system workflows.
- Comfortable working in dynamic environments with evolving processes.
