Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work:

The Application Integration, SME will design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines that seamlessly connect Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform with internal and external systems. This role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and highly performant data migration and integration across diverse cloud and on-premises environments. This role will demonstrate an ability to handle complex data workflows, API integrations, and hybrid system connections, while adhering to the latest security and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data integration and migration pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Power Apps/Power Platform Dataflows to connect Dataverse to on-premises, cloud, and SaaS systems.
  • Build and support Power Automate integration flows, including scheduled, triggered, and event-driven workflows.
  • Develop, consume, and expose REST APIs to facilitate bi-directional data exchange between Dataverse and external systems.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the On-Premises Data Gateway for secure data access across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Execute data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and transformation activities, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout integration processes; apply analytical techniques for troubleshooting data issues.
  • Optimize integration pipelines for throughput, latency, and protection limits while implementing robust error handling, logging, alerting, and monitoring to ensure reliability and rapid issue resolution.
  • Work with solution architects, business stakeholders, and functional consultants to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and document data flows, integration architecture specifications, and operational runbooks.
  • Apply security best practices for data in transit and at rest, including credential management and role-based access control.
  • Support testing efforts, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing for integration workflows; provide production support and troubleshooting for integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies.
  • Stay current with Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure integration service updates and recommend solutions to enhance system performance and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Proficiency with Power Automate for building distributed workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Apps/Platform Dataflows.
  • ETL expertise using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory for pipeline orchestration and data movement.
  • Proven experience designing and consuming REST APIs and web services for system integration.
  • Configuration and administration of On-Premises Data Gateway.
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and relational database design.
  • Solid understanding of Dataverse's data model, security framework (business units, security roles, teams), and entity relationships.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0, Azure AD/Entra ID app registrations, and service principals.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, DP-600, DP-203, or AZ-204.
  • Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Dataverse virtual tables/entities.
  • Knowledge of source control and CI/CD practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with message-based/event-driven integration using tools like Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, or webhooks.
  • Working knowledge of C#/.NET or PowerShell for custom connectors, automation scripting, and plug-ins.
  • Knowledge of master data management, data retention, and archival strategies.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for Power Platform solutions, including managed/unmanaged solutions and environment strategies.
  • Familiarity with tools like Application Insights and Azure Monitor to enhance system reliability and observability.
