Join our Team as a TEST TECHNICAN!

The Role:

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Test Technician to join our team. In this position, you will support the execution of engineering tests that help validate and improve products and systems. You will work closely with engineers and lab leadership to prepare and run tests, collect and review data, and communicate progress and results. This role involves hands?on work in lab and field environments, contributing to test setup, documentation, and reporting. You will also help identify opportunities to improve testing processes, support lab operations, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Through collaboration, organization, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in enabling successful testing programs and overall product development.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Collaborate with test engineers to develop and execute test plans, including test setup, data acquisition configuration, sensor and probe selection, and completion of tests according to defined requirements.
  • Configure, install, and maintain data acquisition systems and test equipment; manage prototype, product, indoor/outdoor, and assigned component-level bench tests.
  • Manage execution of small test programs, track progress, visualize results, and report status. Identify execution gaps and partner with engineering and lab leadership to resolve issues effectively.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings or provide project updates as requested.
  • Identify and procure required software, hardware, and tooling to support test execution and overall program success.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed test logs, daily activity tracking, and documentation. Provide regular updates in daily and weekly meetings, capture lessons learned, and propose standardization or improvement plans.
  • Review test plans and procedures developed by engineers, identify missing or unclear requirements, and collaborate with engineering and leadership to close identified gaps.
  • Execute assigned tests and tasks under the direction of a test engineer while ensuring adherence to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform electrical testing tasks as needed, including development of electrical test harnesses, test setup for system- and component-level testing, environmental and thermal testing, firmware flashing, and schematic creation using provided tools and training. Install and test electrical and electronic components using appropriate hand tools and test instruments.
  • Perform mechanical testing tasks as needed, including supporting battery and vehicle-level testing, mechanical and electrical bench tests, fixture design and fabrication, fatigue test setup, and vehicle preparation activities such as part installation or replacement.
  • Review and validate collected test data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper channel assignment; process and analyze data using tools such as Excel.
  • Study existing test plans, procedures, and reports to execute testing effectively; identify gaps in documentation and contribute to the development, modification, and standardization of test procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct vehicle testing by driving defined duty cycles and patterns; optimize test patterns to meet specific test objectives.
  • Prepare and complete test reports within established timelines and quality standards using provided training and templates.
  • Support test equipment selection, organization, and 5S activities within the lab environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in development of new test procedures, process improvements, problem documentation, and countermeasure implementation.
  • Support lab operations, facility installations, and other laboratory-related activities as requested by lab supervision.
  • Assist with external testing activities, including supplier visits and testing at customer or third-party facilities as needed.
  • Identify and participate in Kaizen, Hoshin, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all duties while maintaining a constant state of alertness and adhering to safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • Associates degree or 5 years of experience in technical field relevant to the job requirement.
  • Minimum 2 years of operation experience of forklifts or similar type of material handling equipment with trackable safety record.
  • Self-Driven to succeed and learn under limited training. Hands-on, sense of safety, teamwork oriented, detail oriented, technically oriented individual is required.
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read, evaluate, understand, and communicate data from prints and technical standard documents.
  • Strong technical writing skills to document daily activities and draft test reports to required standard.
  • Adaptable with strong passion towards field of study or experience.
  • Ability to put customer needs first and resourcefulness to achieve it.
  • Associates with Electrical background - Understanding of electronic principles with working knowledge of electrical circuitry. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and come up with countermeasures as problems arise. Ability to put together electrical schematics with minimum training. Experience in harness preparation is required. Experience with electrical soldering and other essential electrical fabrication is required. Must have hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical sub systems.
  • Associates with Mechanical background - Understanding of mechanical assemblies, systems. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical components and basic electrical circuits. Experience in making electrical harnesses is preferred. Must have hands-on assembly experience on forklift or other industrial/ road equipment. Ideate, fabricate, and document fixtures required for testing or test setup.
  • Ability to maintain test schedule for long term fatigue or environmental tests.
  • Ability to continuously operate forklift and other types of material handling equipment for 2 hours, with short rest time.
  • Experience in working with sensors to collect data, data acquisition device and other types of testing equipment.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, other lab equipment which can include fatigue testing equipment, battery cycler and environment chambers.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary - $57,000 - $94,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
