About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the insurance and financial services industry, is seeking a Peripheral Operator to support critical data center and output processing operations. This entry?level role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience with computer peripheral equipment, print center machinery, and hardware operations. You will work in a fast-paced production environment that supports enterprise-wide document output and processing.

Job Description
In this role, you will operate or develop the skills to operate a variety of data center equipment, including printers, inserters, finishing systems, mail processing machines, and infrastructure support equipment. Responsibilities include:
  • Operating peripheral equipment under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Executing basic machine jam clearing and operator-level service actions.
  • Preparing production control reports with direction from senior operators or supervisors.
  • Completing clerical tasks related to inventory and outgoing product control using automated or manual systems.
  • Using computer terminals to queue work, input data, and respond to console messages.
  • Performing manual document assembly, postage application, and packaging tasks.
  • Supporting additional operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and understand computer peripheral hardware.
  • Strong basic math skills to maintain accurate product controls.
  • Ability to identify errors in production, such as incorrect document sequences, quality issues, or improper insert materials.
  • Capability to recognize equipment problems and escalate them appropriately.
  • Clear oral communication skills for interaction with lead operators, managers, and occasionally technical staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Competence in planning and organizing individual tasks and materials.
Preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a data center, print center, or similar production environment.
  • General working knowledge of computer peripheral hardware.
  • Developing understanding of business processes related to production content and organizational workflows.
  • Basic problem-solving ability related to equipment jams, exception handling, and quality issues.
