Overview The Manager of Enterprise Applications provides leadership, strategy, and oversight for the organization's enterprise application ecosystem. This role is responsible for the governance, roadmap, and operational success of platforms that support core business capabilities across the enterprise.
The position leads a team of solution engineers and analysts responsible for the delivery, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications, ensuring solutions align with business priorities, integrate across departments, reduce organizational silos, and maximize operational efficiency and data visibility while partnering closely with business leaders, IT leadership, and vendors to define long-term application strategy, drive adoption, and ensure enterprise platforms support the organization's strategic objectives.

The Manager, Applications will: Leadership and Team Management
- Leads and manages the Enterprise Applications team, including engineers, analysts, and platform specialists
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance management for team members
- Establishes clear priorities, accountability, and professional development plans for the team
- Oversees workload planning, resource allocation, and operational support responsibilities
- Promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams to avoid technology silos
Enterprise Application Strategy and Governance
- Defines and maintains the enterprise application strategy and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals
- Oversees the lifecycle management of enterprise platforms, including evaluation, selection, implementation, and retirement
- Establishes governance standards for application configuration, integration, and change management
- Ensures enterprise platforms are implemented consistently and in alignment with IT architecture standards
- Identifies opportunities to consolidate systems, eliminate redundancy, and improve enterprise integration
Business Engagement and Cross Functional Collaboration
- Serves as a strategic partner to business units in identifying opportunities to leverage enterprise platforms
- Works with departments to understand operational challenges and translate them into scalable technology solutions
- Facilitates alignment between IT capabilities and business objectives across the organization
- Promotes adoption of enterprise platforms and encourages the use of standard tools across departments
Application Portfolio Management
- Maintains visibility into the organization's enterprise application portfolio, including licensing, usage, and business value
- Evaluates existing systems and recommends improvements, upgrades, or replacements when appropriate
- Provides metrics and reporting on platform usage, operational impact, and return on investment
- Ensures platforms remain current, supported, and aligned with vendor roadmaps
Vendor and Platform Oversight
- Manages relationships with application vendors and strategic partners
- Coordinates vendor engagements, licensing agreements, and support relationships
- Evaluates new platforms and technologies to support future organizational needs
- Ensures vendors meet performance, reliability, and service expectations
Project and Initiative Oversight
- Oversees enterprise application initiatives and ensures projects align with strategic priorities
- Collaborates with project managers and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of initiatives
- Monitors project progress, risks, and dependencies across the application portfolio
Essential Duties:
- Provides strategic oversight of enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365 and other enterprise systems
- Ensures enterprise applications are properly supported, maintained, and aligned with IT standards
- Participates in the IT leadership on call rotation when required

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with executive leadership and business stakeholders
- Experience managing enterprise software vendors and platform lifecycles
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Experience overseeing enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, Software Deliver Life Cycle software, collaboration platforms, or similar enterprise systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Preferred Skills: - Experience managing enterprise application portfolios across multiple business units
- Experience driving enterprise platform adoption and governance
- Knowledge of application integration strategies and enterprise architecture practices
Education: - Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Master's degree in a related field
Years of experience in a similar role: - 7+ years of enterprise application development and administration
- 7+ years of proven experience and success in engineering and designing enterprise-level IT systems.
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership or team management roles
Preferred - Experience leading enterprise platform transformations
- Experience managing application portfolios in regulated environments
Compensation: Salary at DSS Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000.00 to $175,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
