Summary

Role: Support resource for Historian

Cadence:
Weekly touchpoint to review EVM report, plan workload the next week, and schedule plant outages for application patching. Adhoc support on incoming Historian support tickets from MyTech

Responsibilities:
Historian Application Patching: There are 2 types of patching; server and application. Server patching consists of patching the underlying Operating System (e.g. Windows) and Virtual Machine (e.g. VMWare); Server Patching is out of scope. The responsibility of the support resource is to provide application patching and testing for the Historian. These applications have always run in the supply chain shops and the central cluster; over 60+ servers. The support person is responsible for updating not only the application software but the underlying software the application requires to execute (e.g. Java, Chrome, Code Red Issues).

Skill Sets Required:
Understanding of how to apply Application patches in Windows
Basic understanding of Windows Services management (e.g. start/stop services to facilitate app patches)
Use of security certificates
Experience using REGEDIT to set application parameters
Troubleshoot application installation and patching procedures

Historian Application Defect Support : Historian-Support person is to triage incoming tickets, ability to skip trace machine data from Historian to source, restart appropriate Historian servers and/or collectors (either local or central), and if they cannot solve customer issues and it is a Historian or IGS issue, the responsibility of the support resource is to open a support ticket in the Digital application and then coordinating resolution between the end customer and ....

Skill Sets Required:
Past experience working with machine data in Historian, IGS/KepServer, and MTConnect (or an equivalent time series data base)
Troubleshoot time series database and driver packages
Ability to troubleshoot firewall issues and put in proper tickets as needed
Understand what collectors are and how to restart them in Windows Services and/or Configuration Manager
Ability to track data from factory floor thru MTConnect <- IGS <- local Historian <- Central Historian <-OPSVision
VB Script for editing STATE tags
Ability to work with Site to add machines
Must be US-based Export Control
