The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for an established, employee-owned global architectural, engineering, and design enterprise seeking a talented Mechanical HVAC Engineer for their Brea, California location. This career-defining mandate places you within collaborative project teams tasked with engineering world-class climate control and plumbing systems for critical aviation, defense, and governmental installations. You will help drive innovative infrastructure projects from initial concept through final construction administration, balancing precision engineering with financial and functional parameters.

What You’ll Do

  • Engineer comprehensive thermal and plumbing layouts spanning the entire lifecycle from conceptual blueprints to final project delivery, encompassing air-side and duct networks, chilled and condenser loops, heating hot water, steam loops, automated climate controls, domestic water distribution, sanitary waste systems, and specialized compressed gas networks.

  • Execute rigorous thermal load computations, thermal modeling simulations, and economic viability evaluations utilizing Trane Trace, or Energy Pro.

  • Draft, adapt, and inspect engineering schematics tailored primarily to aviation, defense, and governmental properties, alongside industrial, power generation, life science, and commercial venues.

  • Apply specialized federal design criteria including Unified Facilities Criteria and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications directly to daily planning and execution.

  • Utilize industry standards and regulatory codes such as Ashrae, Aspe, Title 24, Imc, and the Ipc to ensure absolute compliance and operational excellence.

  • Author detailed technical deliverables utilizing computer-aided drafting platforms including Revit and AutoCad.

  • Conduct thorough field evaluations, physical measurements, and computational audits for public and private sector clients.

  • Synthesize project-related data to support client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor'S Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an Abet-Accredited Program, supported by a minimum of Three Years of professional mechanical engineering experience, with specialized background in plumbing and climate control systems preferred.

  • Alternative qualification consisting of a Bachelor'S Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field from an Abet-Accredited Program, successful completion of the Fundamentals Of Engineering Exam, and a minimum of Three Years of professional mechanical engineering experience, with plumbing and climate control background preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCad, Revit, Iesve, Trane Trace, Energy Pro, Aft Fathom, and Elite Ductsizer.

  • Advanced capability in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite for technical reporting and quantitative computations.

  • Active Professional Engineer License or Engineers In Training Certification preferred.

  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving aptitude paired with meticulous attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Annual Salary: $130,000 - $220,000.
