Application Middleware & Infrastructure Support Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Middleware & Infrastructure Support Engineer to support and maintain enterprise applications hosted across Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in middleware administration, application troubleshooting, server management, and CI/CD automation. This role requires working closely with development, infrastructure, and database teams to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities

Operating Systems & Infrastructure Support

• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage server configurations, patching, and application deployments.

Middleware Administration

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
  • Red Hat JBoss Application Server
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware
  • Oracle WebLogic Server
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Apache Tomcat
  • Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services)
  • Docker containers
• Maintain middleware environments and ensure application availability.

Application Support & Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across various technology stacks, including:
  • Java/J2EE Applications
  • .NET Applications
  • C#
  • VB.NET
  • Node.js
  • NGINX
  • Windows Executables
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Yellowfin Reporting Platform
• Analyze logs, identify root causes, and coordinate issue resolution with development teams.

Database Connectivity & Reporting

• Support application integrations with:
  • Oracle Databases
  • Microsoft SQL Server
• Troubleshoot database connectivity, performance, and reporting-related issues.
• Support SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Yellowfin reporting environments.

Security & Certificate Management

• Manage SSL/TLS certificates on Linux and Windows servers.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and certificate renewal processes.

Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using:
  • PowerShell
  • Bash
  • Korn Shell (ksh)
  • Python
• Automate routine operational and deployment tasks.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate build and deployment processes for:
  • Java Applications
  • .NET Applications
  • Middleware Platforms (JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic)
  • Windows and Linux hosted applications
• Integrate deployment pipelines with databases, middleware, and reporting platforms.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Windows Server.
• Experience administering Red Hat JBoss, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Fusion Middleware, or IIS.
• Experience troubleshooting Java and/or .NET based applications.
• Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database connectivity.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, ksh, or Python.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD implementation and automation.
• Experience with Docker containerization.
• Experience supporting Apache Tomcat, NGINX, SSRS, and Yellowfin reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise application deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Experience working in large-scale production environments with high-availability requirements.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting Oracle Forms and Reports.
• Middleware migration and upgrade experience.
• Cloud platform exposure (Azure preferred).
• ITIL-based production support experience.
