Role Overview
The Advanced Support team is responsible for implementing and maintaining restaurant technology, including Point of Sale (POS), Kitchen Video Systems, Back Office Systems, and more. This role is central to building and maintaining the complex suite of systems that form the restaurant infrastructure. You will contribute to strategic planning efforts to improve platform innovation while supporting a growing enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, design, and resolve issues for Windows 10 and 11 images across multiple device types.
- Serve as the Level 3 escalation point of contact for internal business partners and external support customers.
- Develop and maintain Change and Release Management routines, ensuring results through metric-driven dashboards.
- Perform root cause analysis and remediation on various hardware and software platforms.
- Lead strategic initiatives, including research, design, testing, and certification of Windows 10/11 images.
- Create and design restaurant architecture documentation and implement software changes.
- Manage a preventative maintenance schedule for all restaurant infrastructure equipment to ensure minimal outages.
- Develop tools to assist in the image creation and maintenance processes.
- Manage relationships with key hardware suppliers to improve services through automation.
- Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Experience:- 7+ years of desktop engineering experience, with a preference for POS platforms.
- 5+ years in a Windows 10 Engineering, POS Systems Administration, or Desktop Administration role.
- 3+ years of project management experience on small to medium, time-sensitive projects.
- Experience supporting a large-scale retail or restaurant enterprise.
Technical Skills:- Expert-level proficiency in designing, implementing, and supporting Windows 10/11 desktop images.
- Expertise in providing Level 3 support for POS software and its underlying components.
- Proficiency with Endpoint Manager tools such as Ivanti Neurons or Ivanti Endpoint Manager (LANDesk).
- Working knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript, Python).
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a compliance network environment (PCI, HIPAA, SOX).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
- Experience with Cisco Meraki or SonicWall network environments.
- Familiarity with Proxmox.
- Experience with PAR POS systems.
- Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-100/101), ITIL v4, Azure Fundamentals, or MCSA/MCP.
