Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Architect with expertise in Microsoft Fabric to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Springfield, Vermont, this role is integral to improving and optimizing an existing data and analytics environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the platform is scalable, efficient, and sustainable while empowering internal teams to manage the system independently.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the current Microsoft Fabric architecture, including data pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse, and Power BI models.
Identify and address gaps in performance, scalability, and governance across the analytics platform.
Enhance data pipelines, semantic models, and reporting structures to improve overall system efficiency.
Establish and implement governance standards, including workspace organization, naming conventions, and documentation.
Improve data lineage visibility and ownership to ensure platform sustainability.
Align the architecture with Microsoft Fabric best practices to optimize functionality and performance.
Provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer to internal technical teams to enable independent management of the platform.
Deliver a detailed assessment report with strategic recommendations for future enhancements.
Develop and implement a governance framework and standards to ensure compliance and organization.
Create comprehensive documentation and a transition plan to facilitate internal ownership.
Requirements
Extensive experience implementing and optimizing Microsoft Fabric in production environments.
Strong expertise in data engineering, including data pipelines, data modeling, and Power BI semantic models.
Proven ability to assess and improve existing data and analytics environments.
Familiarity with translating technical improvements into maintainable, practical solutions.
Experience working in the Azure ecosystem and leveraging its capabilities.
Background in mentoring or enabling internal teams through training and knowledge sharing.
Preferably, experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
At least 7 years of relevant experience.
