As a Staff Engineering Technician, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities:
Function in a project engineering technician capacity
Under general direction, support engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables
Apply foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions
Utilize digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
Provide technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs
Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and policies and procedures
May review project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables
Proactively apply Quality Program to deliverables
Demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management efforts
Review design inputs in order to ensure consistency
Assist to ensure deliverables are in compliance with the specific codes and standards suitable for the project
May apply basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing moderately complex design concepts and deliverables
Begin to apply judgment and make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation
Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records
May review the deliverables of others
May define work assignments and maintain schedules
May program control systems or participate in other plant start-up activities associated with a specialized area of expertise
Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development
May apply judgment and make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation
Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes
May support field activities
Focus on the needs of internal clients while utilizing an understanding of external client's main interests and drivers
Qualifications:
Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience
Advanced Civil 3D experience is required with use of proposed grading surfaces and plan development
Experience with Grid substation projects
Capable of handling difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and can provide technical guidance to other professionals
Diploma or certificate required, Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred
The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $85,000 or the hourly equivalent.
