Job Title: Java Full Stack Developer (Onsite Austin, TX)
Location: Austin, TX 78751 (100% Onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract
We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to support a high-visibility public sector engagement in Austin, TX. This role requires strong expertise in Java development, databases (Postgres, MongoDB), cloud (Azure), and web technologies (JSP). The selected consultant will work onsite, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable applications that meet critical business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring frameworks, and RESTful web services.
- Build and optimize back-end services with Postgres SQL and MongoDB.
- Develop microservices and integrations within Azure Cloud environments.
- Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements, analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Write efficient, reusable, and reliable code while ensuring best practices in security and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application layers.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, architects, and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Contribute to system and database design, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Provide production support and enhancements to existing applications as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of professional IT experience with Java/J2EE development.
- Strong hands-on experience with JSP, Servlets, Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
- Proficiency with Postgres SQL and MongoDB.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in Azure Cloud.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, multithreading, and design patterns.
- Experience building RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and JUnit testing.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work onsite in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3).
Knowledge of microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Prior public sector / government project experience a plus.
